Small groups participate in a wide spectrum of activities. Experienced staff share their knowledge of and love for the environment, teaching students the intricate balance within the ecosystem. It's fun, exciting, educational and challenging!

Day Camps
Programs are action packed with kayaking, canoeing, climbing, orienteering, swimming, hiking, and learning wilderness skills. Campers learn all the essentials required to build confidence so they may venture out on an overnight kayak expedition the last two days.

Overnight Marine Based
Seven days of kayaking, camping, learning wilderness skills, climbing, swimming, navigation and hiking. After two nights at base camp on Salt Spring, campers paddle out on their Gulf Island expedition. This is where they will put into practice the outdoor skills they have been learning. The perfect camp for seeing wildlife and exploring spectacular coves and islands.

Two Week Kayak & Surf

This program is an excellent combination of kayaking in the Gulf Islands with a Pacific Rim Surfing excursion. Students are taught by seasoned instructors and are provided with all the necessary equipment. Base skills are learned prior to going out on both expeditions with two days of training on Salt Spring in both weeks. Paddling will head out into the northern Gulf Island, for the Kayak expedition and to Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island for the surf program. Campers gain a solid outdoor skill base while building a strong appreciation for west coast water based activities. Safety, skill acquisition, friendship, team building and most of all fun are the goals for this two week program.

West Coast Surf Camp

Our love of surfing and the west coast has motivated us to initiate this one week surf camp that teaches fundamentals of surfing and offers tons of time to practice and play in west coast waves. Instruction will be offered by several experienced surfers. Participants will have the opportunity to try out both long and short boards at several beaches in the Pacific Rim region. A camping based program, day to day activities will also include hiking, wildlife viewing, outdoor skill acquisition, picnics on the beach… The camping facilities in Ucluelet has a hot tub and showers to keep the comfort level high after a day in the cooler waters. While no experience is necessary we are suggesting that the minimum age is 13/14.

Overnight Mountaineering
The first two days on Salt Spring Island, campers learn essential elements of mountaineering, navigation and climbing. Then we head over into the mountains of Vancouver Island where base camps are set up near high alpine lakes and climbing sites. Hikers will spend the next few days ascending various peaks in the area. The scenery is truly inspiring.

Overnight West Coast Experience
This is the ultimate wilderness adventure program, a combination of both our Marine and Mountain Camps. Students will acquire a broad base of skills in kayaking, ocean navigation, mountaineering, climbing and survival skills. Participants achieve a high level of competence in many activities. The program is diverse, challenging and exhilarating.

Junior Leadership Program
This program has been designed as a solid foundation for those interested in a possible career or summer employment in outdoor recreation/education. Recommended for those 15-18 years who have already taken a one or two-week program or who have solid outdoor skills.
