SKATEBOARDING

Salt Spring Island has produced some extremely talented skateboarders. For decades skaters made wood ramps located on a blocked off road in order to skateboard. Since the completion of the top-notch Kanaka Rd. Skate park, many kids of the island have grown into wicked skaters.

Established in 2002, Island Escapades started the first skate shop on the Island. Today Island Escapades encourages the local skate scene by sponsoring a large amount of the highly skilled kids. Through a sponsorship that Island Escapades provides, kids are helped by being supplied with the highest quality skate shoes, boards and hardware to ensure they achieve their full potential. Come into the store in downtown Ganges to ask about the park or to check out all our boards, trucks, wheels, bearings, shoes and clothes.
